My FMS dream...

I m completely surrounded by books.. Totally.. Some books which I hav completely worked out n some which are half worked n some which I m yet to touch.. Not tat I m a bibliophile or something like tat.. In fact I don believe much on pedantic knowledge.. 4yrs of college life had taught me tat bookish knowledge cant build a man.. Hmmm.. These are my books for my MBA.. A degree which I m longing to hav along side my name.. Waitin to see my self-designed visitin card with the epithet “MBA”.. It will be a legacy which no one can take away..

I have applied for 4 exams n I have written 3 so far.. I hav flunked two of it n abt the third I m clueless bcos I don have its question paper.. Will know its status only when result comes.. So tat leaves me to the last option “FMS”..

Sometime in october I dint hav much idea abt tat college except tat it’s a top college and tat entry into it is difficult.. But now its not so.. I have seen its past records n I m longing to be a part of it ever since.. Who wood not want to be a part a college which offers the best on-campus locales, with good reputation world wide, a glitzy faculty strength n to top it all, the most economical MBA college ever.. Any business man wood want to want maximize his profits by keepin his expenditure level minimum.. No better choice than FMS.. And I m no exception..

FMS is a constituent college from the famous Delhi University.. Remember Rang de basanti??? The same college..

I have applied for its constituent exam n felt a sense of belonging on seein the prospectus.. My heart was simply poundin “Oh my god.. This is the place I want to be!!! I belong to this place.. This is the place I must be graduating after 2 yrs!!!”. In the capital with exotic locales, the best ambience for any student!!!.. Its been a dream ever since..

I did a big mistake by not applyin for CAT.. Tat was what Harish was sayin “Sada, the only option for u to maximize ur probability for admit is thro CAT, but u hav not written it”.. I regret my mistake..

I had my XAT exam yest and the results were a complete shocker.. I m way behind the cut offs n wat was left was only agony, dejection n disappointment.. Couldn control my tears as I let the opportunity slip away.. XAT is the most important exam after CAT.. It has 4 top colleges under it.. Feelin dejected that I hav disqualified myself for all of them.. I don have any regrets tat I dint study well.. I studied the best I could.. But u no “Even wen u drive well, the person behind u must also drive well to avoid accidents.. “ the same scenario here.. Luck wasn’t my side.. And I felt the pressure to perform.. Tat had its toll..

After comin home, I was thinkin on the retrospect.. So how was my last CAT?? I traced my way back to the year 2007.. It was mid November.. It was CAT time.. The most anticipated day of the year arrived.. Many were banging their heads n readin.. Many studied without sleepin for weeks.. Many had a tough time balancing work n studies.. Their pressure cant be explained in words.. Me being a CAT aspirant, was under no pressure bcos I dint no anything n tat I was on the mindset like “I hav nothing to lose so I can go all out for the exam.. If it gets right its nice n fine for me.. if I don clear well no prob for me.. There is next year”..

But this yr it was totally different.. My mindset was like “I need to make it” n so naturally pressure sets in.. 2 hrs may seem a long time.. but the exam hall disproves it.. 2 hrs decides the fate of a person.. 2 hrs to overtake ur opponent .. 2 hrs to get into the top univ in India.. 2 hrs may become a magical expedition for a life time or a deathbed until the next yr exam sets in.. Its virtually life or death.. Is it not pressure???

I saw a beautiful poster.. It had Sachin playin some stroke.. And the caption goes like “It’s when everyone is watchin u.. U must play as though no one is watchin you”.. The message n the pic was so apt.. The essence of the message was beautifully conveyed.. I drew a lot of inspiration from it..

Harish was tellin me “Hey Sada, u have the biggest test of ur career.. U hav 5 days time.. U can do anything in this 5 days.. Read how much ever u can.. Read wat ever u can.. Make the best use of ur time.. U will definitely make it”

In 5 days I m havin my FMS exam.. I m going to face the 5 most important days of my life.. Most crucial days I hav ever come across.. Every second is valuable in the next 120hrs.. I need to realize my dream.. I want to celebrate my 23rd birthday in Delhi.. I want to be there!!!
